Cream passed away this afternoon. She went into cardiac arrest at the veterinary clinic and they couldn't save her. She would have been six in February.

She is survived by a guinea pig sister (Sugar), myself, my sister, and both of my parents. She is dearly missed.

    More Guinea Pig News

Just wanted to let you all know Cream is doing better. While she's still very sick her bloodwork came back with extremely good news and she is eating some solid food but the most of her food is still taken in by a syringe. She can't stand up her backside on her own, but if you stand her up and support her for about 5 seconds so she can get her bearings, she can take a few steps on her own. I'm glad she's doing better, but it still makes me sad that she's sick. She's got an appointment with this veterinarian that specialises in dentistry for exotic rodents next week so she'll get her teeth fixed. Her bottom tooth broke completely off and it's one of the reasons why she is unable to eat most food on her own. But, I'm just glad that it looks like she'll see 2008 with us. This afternoon we had a scare because there were a ton of what looked like white scratches on her eye. I saw just one of them on her eye this morning and I thought it was just dust, but this afternoon when my dad and I were feeding her I saw so many of them that it looked like her eye was seriously destroyed. I freaked and my dad was like, "Oh no!", over and over and over and told me to call my mom and let her know to meet him at the veterinary clinic because that's where he took her after packing her up. When he got back, I found out it was just goop like humans get in the corners of their eyes after waking up.

    :)

I've been taking lots of videos and pictures of my guinea pig Cream lately. It's so sad; she's been diagnosed with leukemia and just watching her be all mopey and sad most days is heartwrenching. Today she actually ate food without my mom having to puree it and stick it in a syringe and feed it to her that way. I was so proud of her. I also stuck her down on the floor to get some exercise. She found the Yule & Christmas tree.

    To All My Democratic Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

    To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Yule!

Wednesday, December 19, 2007, 12:53 PM PST [Personal]

I'm celebrating Yule on both the 21st and 22nd. (Well, hopefully the 22nd; I don't know for sure.)

The 21st won't be so "Pagany" because I'm going to see a couple of movies as a present to myself. (Well, three if you count the fact that Sweeney Todd will get out extremely early in the morning on the 21st because I'm going to an advanced screening that starts at 1159PM on the 20th.) The 22nd I'm hopefully going to a drum circle and ritual thing. I really don't know what to expect and I'm not even sure I'm going. :(

I hope you all are doing well; I may not be on as much as I wish I was even though yesterday was the last day of classes for meĀ until January 2nd. I'm going to be spending time doing classwork, reading books I've recently acquired, seeing films, and hopefully attending a show on New Year's Eve and then going to a Fireworks display with my family afterwards.
